Q&A: Victoria Morin, CEO @ Cyroskin Detroit
From CRE to CEO, Victoria Morin is a woman who on and off the clock simply makes people feel good. Following her successful career in commercial real estate, Victoria took on a new venture, Cryoskin Detroit. Since then, she has blazed trails in the wellness world and has not only been making people feel good about themselves but is also helping them look good too.
Cryoskin is a non-invasive treatment for slimming, cellulite reduction, and toning that destroys fat cells in the body at sub-zero temperatures. Unlike other treatments, Cryoskin uses science that works with our body's natural systems and let me just say that I’ve done it and it works.
I met Victoria for the first time at a friend’s birthday party and while there were other women there who seemed “too-cool-for-school,” she was the nicest and surprisingly the most relatable woman there. We complimented each other’s outfits, cheers’d with a drink and complained about all the outfit malfunctions just waiting to happen. I say “surprisingly relatable” because she was one of those pretty girls who I felt were way too cool to talk to me. Remembering this moment, I laugh and smile thinking if you told me then that one day she’d become my best friend - I wouldn’t have believed you.

What inspired you to start Cryoskin Detroit?
I always knew I wanted to open a business but never was able to put my finger on exactly what I wanted to do. I went to school for business and it instilled the entrepreneur bug early on in life. Once graduated, I started in CRE for about two years and managed to get on my feet enough to be in a position, financially to be able to Invest or open something of my own. To me, Cryoskin at first was new technology that became quickly adopted into the US. I saw it a great opportunity and investment but it wasn’t until 3 or 4 months into research that it clicked. This technology was something affordable, non-invasive and safe that would change people’s lives for the better. I became determined to show others and introduce the market to Cryoskin. Believing in what you do is a key component to anyone’s success, your passion will shine through your work and others will see that.
What's a day in the life like for you?
A day in the life of Victoria is busy & fun! There are times where it is very very stressful and I am challenged but with great risk comes great reward. On days where I consult clients I am usually up around 8am, out the door by 9am and stay busy at the Spa till late afternoon. Before I had a team behind me I would work 8am -9pm 6/7 days a week just to accommodate all my clients and make sure I was able to get everything done. It’s something many people don’t realize about owning a business, the work is never done. There are no “days off”, it’s not an option for me to turn my phone off or not answer someone’s call till Monday. As a business owner you are always working, the clock never stops. You are a representation of your business which means always conducting yourself in the highest regard and never missing a beat. I try to take a lot of time to listen to my clients and really understand their needs/ concerns and improve from their constructive criticism.
What was it like going from commercial real estate to running you own business?
It was a bumpy transition, in the beginning the worked full time in CRE & full time getting the business up in running. There were a lot of sleepless nights from stress, worrying and anxiety of taking the leap full time into my business. Brokerage is very different from the beauty industry & yet so similar at the same time. Both fields are competitive and evolving. It’s one of the reasons I was attracted to both, I love a challenge and I’m not scared to have to work really hard for what I want.
What advice do you find you give yourself often?
Breathe. (haha) I have to stop myself a lot and enjoy the moments I’m living in. I get caught trying to constantly improve and innovate my next steps forward that I forget to take a step back and enjoy what I’ve built. Self-reflection is very important, I encourage everyone to take time to reflect on their goals and expectations. Tracking your success by writing down your goals and setting milestones is a great way to keep yourself motivated but also not overwhelmed.
What do you want your clients to know about you?
I foremost want my clients to know how much I deeply appreciate each and every one of them. Just about everyone who has walked through that door has been a massive support system for me. The community we have built is a beautiful things and I will never forget the encouragement I’ve received. I would say most clients know this about me but I am more than just your local Cryoskin Specialist. I love to support and give back in the community any way I can, whether its through charity or helping other local businesses, I love to be involved
How has Sociva Studios impacted your business?
Where to begin, Sociva Studios has made a tremendous impact on my business from the start. She helped me with everything from social media to social events. When I first opened I had no idea how to successfully run an online business platform. Sociva Studios collected a few very simple details about my business, clients & long term vision for the company and went to town. Within a few weeks I had more social media content than I knew what to do with. She setup a call and In about an hour ran over all the content (flyers, social media, branding, captions etc.) she conspired. Sociva gave me the launch I needed to be a recognized and respected business in the area.
In addition to my online platform Sociva also helped me plan my first big event. With over 160 people attending she went step by step through everything I was going to need. From decorations to food to giveaways, Sociva covered all the bases. For weeks we planned and made my party come to life for a night that I will never forget. Overall, I can’t think of a better company to have by my side and I am even more proud to call the owner a lifelong friend and inspiration to me.
Thank you so much Victoria for sharing with us your entrepreneurial journey and your sweet words! If anyone deserves the highest peak of success, it’s you.
